How old are you
really? Real
Age has the most amazing test that will tell you how old your body
is based on how you treat yourself; body, mind and spirit. The
'Test' takes a fair amount of time but it presents extremely useful
information and is well worth the time spent doing it. When you sign up they do send you email tips from
time to time but the the emails are not excessive and are usually
interesting. The site is co-founded two of our favorite (and Oprah's)
medical advisors, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Michael Roizen.
...a little celebration
happens every time we receive a ripple of kindness, which inspires us
to create more which comes back to us in countless ways...The
Ripples Project has a really wonderful (and short) newsletter that
arrives in your mailbox every Monday morning. Ok, now for a
short story: The guy that started the Ripples Project is
Paul Wesselmann. A couple of years ago he bought a product
from a website that I was involved with. I subsequently sent him
an email news letter (since I had his email address from the
order he placed.) Oh boy, very big mistake! Leave it to a
writer/speaker to write the most succinctly scathing 'please remove me
from your mailing list' email that I have ever received. Now,
admittedly, he had not signed up for our news letter, and more
importantly, I had not asked him if he wanted to receive our news
letter which he very clearly pointed out. So I had a couple of
choices, I could just remove him from my mailing list, or I could
contact him and apologize for my ignorant mistake and still remove him
from my mailing list. I opted to send an email where I
apologized and explained that I wasn't aware of the whole concept of
opt-in marketing. His response still makes my heart smile.
He became the 'teacher', explained his frustration, and put me on to
the most amazing author of web marketing books, Seth
Godin. I learned so much from this whole encounter and am
extremely grateful for the set of circumstances that triggered
it. Paul, if you ever happen to read this, let me know if you
want me to remove it from the site. I know from past experience
that I should ask you for permission to share the story....but in this
instance, I'm more of a mind to ask for forgiveness (again)....
Ok, if you haven't already figured it
out, we love Oprah
She is: an exceptionally strong mature female role model, extremely
generous, kind, caring, socially responsible and willing to put her
money where her mouth is....and we can't say enough good about her
because of it.
And, as long as we're on the subject,
hats of to Bill
and Melinda Gates and the foundation that they established.
They are using their collective wealth to literally make the world a
better place to live.
Dr.
Wayne Dyer puts words to the beliefs that I have always
held. He is an internationally renowned author and speaker in
